Visit the superb city of Asti in the region of Piedmont
Tourists could start their day of explorations here by walking around some of the ancient city walls which still encase the northern part of Asti. The north-west district of the city is brimming with magnificent old palaces and grand houses to walk around and admire for a few hours. Don’t forget then to take a look to the stunning cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta in Asti.
Asti was famously known as the city of 100 towers even though there was once as many as 120 built here! Like the popular tower town of San Gimignano in Tuscany, only a few remain standing (like the one in the picture) but a wealth of knowledge about them is readily available for tourists to learn about.
