The valley of flowers National park is located in the West Himalayan state of Uttarakhand. The national park is know for the colorful varieties of flowers that bloom in the region. With the progress of season the valley changes colors with different kind of flower blooms. The region supports many varieties of flowers that are exclusive to the valley. The place came to the notice of outside world in 1931 when a group of British mountaineers while returning from an expedition to Mt. Kamet lost their way and stumbled on to this place filled with flowers, they named it the valley of flowers. The park remains under snow during winter and is accessible only during summer.
