How did a pyramid end up in Rome?
When you think of pyramids, you’re likely to imagine a sandy desert in Egypt. You’re less like to think of the heart of the city of Rome and, yet, that’s exactly where a pyramid which dates back to between 18 and 12 BC is located.
The Pyramid of Cestius is the only pyramid erected on italian soil that still exists. If you’re intrigued by this oddity and would like to discover more about it read our related new blog post here: http://www.italy-villas.com/to-italy/2015/tourist-attractions/architectural-gems/pyramid-of-cestius
